MITOCHONDRIA 〰️

For Episode 3, MYTO joins forces with Roses of Elagabalus to explore THE POLITICS OF THE BODY as a form of living architecture. Through immersive, durational performances, the space will be transformed into a realm where the body becomes structure, scaffold, and moving image.

MYTO and the participating artists have developed a series of exclusive, site-specific sound and bodily performances commissioned for this episode. These works will unfold across two intimate evening sessions, each lasting 1 hour and 15 minutes. They will not be recorded or made available in any form afterwards. This is a one night only exclusive experience that will not be repeated.

Due to the venue’s spatial limits, each session will have a strictly limited capacity. Once this is reached, no further entry will be permitted. In the event of no-shows from ticket holders, a very small number of additional tickets will be made available at the door.

Each room has been curated and transformed into a living architecture, immerse yourself into the live experience of moving bodies, voices and sounds.

MYTO EPISODE 2

SOLARPUNK

London Ugly Duck - March 2025

  • For Episode 2: SOLARPUNK, MYTO teamed up with Ugly Duck, to bring to life a two day exhibition surrounding the theme of Solarpunk. For this episode, MYTO introduced this concept as a tool for decolonisation, platforming artists and speakers from different diasporas, and creating a space of convergence to ignite hope in alternative future building. Solarpunk is a genre of speculative fiction rooted in worldbuilding that puts grassroots community, ecology and sustainable development to the forefront. The two day takeover included sound installation, sculpture, live performances, film screening, panel talk, workshop and a publication of research programme notes by various researchers in the field supported by Stigmata Publication London.

Panel Discussion: Justin Rivera, Dr. Iyan Offor, Seema Mattu and Amani Cosmo

Performances: Queer Falafel, Cabazadenego, M Lissoni, Engin Ekici, Maeve Moayedi, Mi Ya, Seba and Maxim

Installation: Marouane Joubba, Erkan Gursel and Tewa Bernosa.

VOICES FROM THE NOISE

London Algha’s Plantroom - October 2024

  • VOICES FROM THE NOISE brought together innovative voices who emerged from London's underground ecosystems, and joined us for a discussion on authenticity as resistance to the mainstream. The event brought together DJs, Musicians, performance artists, installations and community workers to discuss authenticity as resistance to the mainstream. This resistance is synthesised with performance work that highlights how censorship silences us in an increasingly polluted and surveiled world.

Panel discussion with Lolow, Parma Ham, Kaiden Ford & Thempress.

Multidisciplinary Performances by Ratiba Ayadi, Hezen and Mahsa Salali.
